Harrisburg, PA- The Third in The Burg had a successful Friday on April 15th. With the weather finally cooperating with the general public’s sensory and feelings the streets of Harrisburg were flooded with by passers appreciating live street performers, crowds snagging a quick drink at their favorite bars, and a nice stroll down Front Street. But the spotlight for the entire night was captured by the Trevor Hall concert at HMAC .with the doors not set to open until 8pm, a line to get a front row gaze at the star was line up way ahead of time. Upon entering the stage the immediate crowd and biggest fan swarmed to the front to wait for the artist. The night was opened by the mesmerizing folk music of Gone Gone Beyond.
Upon walking on the stage, they welcomed the crowd to a guided meditation and to let go of any ill thoughts or feelings of the day and to welcome in the synergy and hope they would love to deliver. After a moment of silence, and the bad juju finally escaping the room they kicked right into their set and brought the positive vibes to life. The natives of Spain delivered a message of hope for humanity through every track. With a very diverse track list, and the flexibility between switching instruments and genres as a whole kept the crowd continuously engaged from the beginning. During their hour long set they kept the crowd moving and grooving, singing along to their catchy tracks, and gained a few new fans in the process.
They concluded the set with “Coast” which definitely had the fans coasting for a little while. As the opening act exited the stage the crowd gathered tight to the front as they awaited the main attraction of the night, Trevor Hall. The anticipation for the singer proved the loyalty and dedication each of his fans show him. Whenever the infamous white rug was rolled out onto the stage and the bare foot showman entered the stage the audience erupted in joy. Immediately he began into song with a guitar and harmonica hooked up and captured the attention of every listener. Each song carried a different vibe from the acoustic indie artist but had the entire room swaying and demanding more.
Trevor Hall gave a special shoutout to Harrisburg as a whole claiming he enjoyed a nice walk down the riverfront with the dog and enjoyed some of the fine cuisine the city had to offer. An even more special shoutout was administered to some of his youngest fans gathered at the front of the stage. “Just checking on the kiddos”, as he explained. He performed some of his most popular songs such as “Limetree” and performed “2 Oceans” for the very first time live.
Upon concluding his set, the crowd cheered on for him and his band until they returned for a two-song encore to conclude the night. This was Trevor Hall’s first time visiting the city of Harrisburg, and with the crowd response and success of the show as a whole, something tells me this won’t be his last time visiting.
