Annville, PA – Rep. Russ Diamond announced the approval of the $750,000 Keystone Grant to the Annville Free Library’s project to build an addition to the existing building located at 216 E Main St.“We are fortunate to have a such jewel in the Annville Library in the historic district, and these improvements will have a positive effect on the entire area.” said Rep Russ Diamond in a press release. The new addition to the property will be energy efficient through the usage of new HVAC systems, increased lighting from energy efficient windows and skylights, along with updated technology and security systems.
“With two new entrances, a new interior stairway and two new family restrooms — all ADA-compliant — as well as an attractive, dedicated and larger space for the youth program, an outdoor reading patio and rain gardens, this project will help the library to grow with its service area and make the library more accessible for visitors of all ages,” Marty Brandt said in the press release. The construction is expected to be finished by the third quarter of 2023.
According to Marty Brandt, this grant is the first one of a multiple phase project that will be taking place in the library that will include more recreational, study and STEM project related spaces.
