The arrival of new Adele music appears to be imminent.
On Monday (Oct. 4), the “Hello” singer hinted that her fourth studio album could be coming soon by cleansing and updating her Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube pages with a teal blue background that matched mysterious billboards that popped up around the world last week. Her website also encouraged fans to sign up for updates.
Last week, fans speculated that an Adele release was coming soon after billboards started popping up in random areas across the world featuring the number 30. Landmarks in New York, London and Paris also had the number 30 projected on the side of buildings, prompting fans to additionally speculate that the album is titled 30 to follow the format of her previous releases 25, 21 and 19.
The billboards and social media cleanse arrives after Taylor Swift announced on Sept. 30 that she would be moving up the release of her upcoming album, Red (Taylor’s Version), by one week. Adele’s billboards arrived a day after the announcement, which made Swifties believe that the “Wildest Dreams” singer slated the album to drop on Nov. 12 so both albums wouldn’t come out on the original Nov. 19 release date.
“Got some news that I think you’re gonna like – My version of Red will be out a week earlier than scheduled (including the 4 disc vinyl) on November 12th !” Swift wrote on Twitter. “Can’t wait to celebrate the 13th with you and our new/old autumn heartbreak album.”
No further details have been provided about Adele’s forthcoming release, but the singer did joke about the album being titled 30 while sharing a post to Instagram in honor of her birthday a few years back. “Learning to REALLY truly love yourself is it, and I’ve only just realized that that is more than enough,” the singer said in the post, adding, “I’ll learn to love you lot eventually. Bunch of f—ing savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you.”
