“Ready or Not,” here come the Fugees come with a reunion tour. Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark 1996 album The Score around the world — but which Fugees radio hit are you most excited to hear live?
They scored one No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles (now R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay) and Pop Airplay chart with “Killing Me Softly,” which won a Grammy in 1997 for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals. The same year, The Score — the Fugees’ second and final studio album — won the Grammy for best rap album and was the first LP by a rap group to be nominated for the album of the year accolade.
The Score, the best-selling album ever by a hip-hop group (at a reported 22 million copies worldwide) also hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned other hit singles such as “Fu-Gee-La” and “Ready or Not,” which broke into the top 40 of Hot R&B Singles.
