On Monday, December 5, 2022, the President signed into law:
S. 1941, the “Metropolitan Areas Protection and Standardization Act of 2021 or the MAPS Act of 2021,” which ensures the independence and integrity of the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) core-based statistical area delineations, requires OMB to report on the scientific basis for changes to these delineations, and requires transparency in the uses of core-based statistical area delineations in domestic assistance programs;

S. 2159, which designates the community-based outpatient clinic of the Department of Veterans Affairs located at 400 College Drive, Middleburg, Florida, as the Andrew K. Baker Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic;

S. 3510, the “Disaster Resiliency Planning Act,” which requires the Office of Management and Budget to establish guidance that requires Federal agencies to incorporate natural disaster resilience into real property asset management and investment decisions; and

S. 3655, the “Civil Rights Cold Case Investigations Support Act of 2022,” which extends the term of the Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board (the “Review Board”) through January 8, 2026, with the option to extend the Review Board’s authority for an additional year if it has not completed its work.
