Lil Nas X has got a lot of people talking as he ramps to the release of his debut album — and one of those people, Boosie Badazz, is not happy about it.
In a tweet posted on Friday morning (Sept. 3), Badazz shared a message where he once again went after the “Industry Baby” rapper with homophobic language for expressing his overt queerness to the public. “NAS X WTF U JUST DONT STOP,” he wrote. “I THINK HES GOING TO TURN AROUND N SUCK ONE OF HIS BACK GROUND DANCERS D— ON NATIONAL TV #protectyours #godturninoverinhisgrave.”
While the “Nasty, Nasty” rapper didn’t retweet or respond to anything directly from Lil Nas X, followers were able to extrapolate that Badazz was set off by the rapper’s faux pregnancy announcement released Thursday. In a series of photos, the 22-year-old reveals a pregnant belly, celebrating the upcoming “birth” of his debut album, Montero.
The photo shoot created online controversy almost instantly, with Lil Nas X quickly taking to his Twitter to defend his photos and clap back at his detractors. “N—as be like ‘you desperate for attention’ then proceed to give it to me,” he wrote in one tweet, adding in another, “let me get offline, all of this negative energy is not good for the baby.”
Badazz has made a habit of talking negatively about Lil Nas X over the last few months. Back in July, after Lil Nas joked about performing naked at the VMAs, Badazz went on his Instagram live and issued a threat to the rapper, saying, “If I’m at the awards and he go up there naked, I’ma drag his a– offstage and beat his a–.”
Boosie then went on to defend his comments in an episode of The Breakfast Club, telling Charlamagne Tha God, “If you were trying to raise [children], would you be cool with sitting there and trying to watch Nas X go up there and take his clothes off? If you do, Charlamagne, you’re part of the problem.”
