Lancaster, Pa- Today, March 1st, 2022, The Lancaster Barnstormers announced a partnership with the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce. Lebanon, Pennsylvania does not have its own baseball team but that is about to change. From one weekend, July 1-3 the Lancaster based baseball team will be renamed. “It’s never been done before so we thought we’d do it” said the president and general manager of the team, Mike Reynolds.
Karen Groh, president of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce and Jennifer Kuzo, president of Visit Lebanon Valley also spoke at the press conference. “The Lebanon County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to partner with the Lancaster Barnstormers on this cross-county event” said Karen Groh in the press release. Jennifer Kuzo’s also introduced the famous Lebanon Bologna mascot and the beloved Lily the cow of Lebanon Valley during the press conference.
Those who would like to participate and contribute a potential name of the Lancaster Barnstormers are invited to go to the team’s website www.lancasterbarnstomers.com and submit your idea. Community members are invited from now until March 15th according to the press release. The winner name will be announced on April 15th and the person who suggested the name will win 4 free tickets to one of the Lebanon County weekend games along with $100 gift card from the Lancaster Barnstormers to spend on the team’s merchandise.
The collaboration has been developing as part of the many businesses who operate in both counties and this event is a way to show the collaboration between the counties through one unique event. The team will be wearing unique uniforms during that weekend that will highlight the selected name in honor of Lebanon County.
