Lebanon, PA- Earlier today reports of three police officers being shot in Lebanon County have been dominating the news cycle of the day. According to other news outlets the police officers were immediately taken into nearby hospitals.
According to an anonymous source, the name of the shooter is allegedly Travis Shaud. While we have not been able to separately confirm this information, the anonymous source purports to be connected with the family. According to this source, Travis “is bipolar and has other mental illnesses. His mother passed away in January and had no one to make him take his meds”. Previous records of Lebanon Daily News show a prior domestic violence charge against him “accused of pushing and grabbing a woman causing her minor injury at 12:34 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of New Street, police said. Shaud was charged with domestic-violence-related simple assault.” According to our anonymous source, Mr. Shaud was allegedly out on parole.
Also according to the anonymous source, Mr. Shaud broke into his stepdad’s house and was aware that the police were going to be called. Our source says that when the police arrived on the scene and tried to speak with Mr. Shaud, he took out a gun and started shooting, after which the officers allegedly shot Mr. Shaud, who we have been told died on scene. Likewise, a report by LebTown shared that two officers were injured and a third officer was fatally shot. The same article by Lebtown confirmed that the shooter is now deceased.
We have independently verified that Mr. Shaud’s mother did not die January this year, according to a Lebanon Daily News report, his mother died Friday, July 23rd, 2021
