Annville, PA- What once was a very controversial conversation in Lebanon County will have its destiny being decided on April 5th, the residents of North Annville Township will come together to hear the official decision that could decide the destiny of the solar farm project in the area. The proposal of a 858-acre solar farm has come with multiple community members sharing their view as to why that should not happen.
Gas prices have greatly accelerated from mid-pandemic levels when no one was driving and gas was $1.68/gallon. A barrel of oil could barely fetch twenty dollars, far below the cost of production. Obviously, new drilling was not going to happen in a market that did not yield profit.
“Vehicle electrification is crucial to meeting climate mitigation targets,” Jaramillo said. “We need vehicle electrification and clean electricity. The only chance of significantly reducing the emissions from personal vehicles is if we electrify…that’s the most prevalent technology.”
