The late Kenny Rogers’ life and musical legacy will be celebrated during the upcoming concert special, Kenny Rogers: All In for the Gambler, set for Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. The concert, which was filmed in 2017 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, features performances from Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, Lady A, Idina Menzel, Lionel Richie, Little Big Town and more. The artists took the stage to perform several of Rogers’ classic hits, such as “Lady,” “The Gambler,” “We’ve Got Tonight,” and more.
The special concert evening ends with Rogers’ “Islands in the Stream” duet partner and superstar Dolly Parton sharing her favorite memories of Rogers, and also performing a medley of songs, culminating in a finale featuring Rogers himself. The special includes onstage tributes, as well as stories from the performing artists, as Rogers had recently announced his retirement. Rogers died March 20, 2020, at age 81.
In addition to being broadcast on CBS, the concert special will stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Kenny Rogers: All In for the Gambler is a production of Blackbird Presents, with Keith Wortman serving as creator and executive producer, and Ken Levitan as an executive producer.
“Kenny Rogers’ enormous impact on country music was matched only by the love all the artists and fans showed Kenny on this incredible night,” said executive producers Keith Wortman and Ken Levitan. “We are so thrilled to share this special with his friends, family and fans all around the world as he will remain forever in our hearts.”
