Lancaster, PA- Hey friend, I just got out from a college class, yesssss a college class, I am graduating this year from Millersville University with a digital communications degree but that is a story for a different day because I paid my way out of college and that is kind of a cool story
In today’s class I was learning about political communication strategies and the tools & tricks the use to persuade voters to vote for a certain candidate, now I am not here to persuade you about politics so do not worry
What I am here to do is to share with you what I’ve learned. Two of the tools that political communication strategist use is the appeal to fear and the appeal to scarcity so how does that apply to business? Well, when you appeal to fear in business you create a scenario that your client really wants to avoid and this idea you can apply to your own industry
For example, there is a business in a town that I lived in for years that announced it was closing after more than 60 years of operating, personally speaking I am not building a business to only last 50+ years, I am building a business that should last at least 1,000 years (Which is possible, look at this Japanese business that did it)
I know it sounds crazy to say something like this, but it can be done, one of the ways that this can be done is by effective marketing combined with a transition to the modern times with a teaspoon of research about the demand of your services with the result of a beautiful business cake where the recipe can be timeless and replicated
So, if you do not want to end up like that business owner work with us!
Now going back to appeal to scarcity, well, we all know that we always want the things that are scarce, that is why real estate, gold and other precious metal, oil & gas, etc are so valuable to us and that is because they are scarce so when you create a communication strategy for your business you should think about how to apply the appeal to scarcity in your communication strategy, because my friend, this will make a difference!
