Former Philadelphia Phillies catcher Tim McCarver, who moved on to a longtime Major League Baseball broadcasting career that landed him in the baseball broadcasting Hall-of-Fame, died Thursday at age 81, according to a CBSSports.com report.
McCarver was a two-time World Series champion with the St. Louis Cardinals and played for the Phillies in 1970-71 and returned again from 1975-1980.
