Harrisburg, PA- Evidence that when you want you can. A friend, who is buying from him today, had invited him to work together in a pizzeria. This is how Mr. Celestino Jacobo, today the owner of Gabriel’ Pizza, started more than 15 years ago in this industry.
Not everything was rosy, because the first pizzeria where he started working was closed. But as the bible says “Everything works for good”.
“Then I went to another pizzeria where another friend worked, who gave me a very good reference and I talked to the owner of that establishment so that I could start working with them,” said Jacobo.
He was working in this second pizzeria for approximately 5 years. From 9 in the morning to 1 in the morning, every day. More than 16 hours of work during all that time. He only had Tuesdays as a day off. I was striving in this way because I could take him and give him a better livelihood for my family, who have been my inspiration to sacrifice for them for a better well-being.
“In this last job I had a problem because my employer took his family to work, and there were many misunderstandings and I told myself that I was going to start my own business from there, despite not having enough money to start,” says Jacobo.
Then a friend who sold vegetables told him about a pizzeria that they were selling for $60,000 dollars, in 2006. Despite not having that money, he always had the goal of achieving his dream of having his own company. Which was not an obstacle for Mr. Jacobo. I look for a way to achieve what he wanted so much.
“I made an offer to the former owner of the pizzeria, but he didn’t want to because what he was offering was way below what he was asking for. Over time, the former owner had to close the business, because no one bought it from him. Then he told me how much I had to offer and I told him that he had no money. He asked me to give him $18,000 dollars, and so I put together all the credit cards he had at the time,” he said.
After agreeing and closing the pizzeria purchase deal. He began to involve his family to work with him. All this success is attributed to constant work, day by day doing what we have to do, because nothing is built by looking at things.
