Lebanon Bicycle Recycle, a program of the Lebanon Valley Bicycle Coalition, is set to host a Cinco de Mayo Slow Ride on May 5th, 2023, at 6:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Participants are expected to gather at the Lebanon Bicycle Recycle’s location at 53 Chestnut Street in Lebanon. The event is designed to cover a 4-mile stretch through the city streets, marking the Cinco de Mayo celebration.
“This is a slow ride and not a race, so anyone can participate. We will be biking through the city in honor of Cinco de Mayo,” said Laurie Crawford, committee member of Lebanon Bicycle Recycle.
The event will begin with participants decorating their bikes with flowers. After the ride, tacos and refreshments will be provided for the participants.
The Lebanon Bicycle Recycle program is designed to provide people with an opportunity to trade in or earn a bike while also learning how to fix one. The program is in need of bike donations as well as bilingual volunteers. New summer hours will begin in May, and the workshop will be open every Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
The Lebanon Valley Bicycle Coalition was founded in 2008 to make the Lebanon Valley region of Pennsylvania a better, safer place to bicycle. They work with elected officials and local governments to ensure that new road projects or redesigns consider the needs of bicyclists. The Coalition offers bike rides to encourage cycling together.
