There’s an altogether different type of beast coming to cinemas.
K-pop stars Monsta X will light up the big screen in more than 70 countries this December with Monsta X: The Dreaming.
The feature film is said to be an inside look at the six-piece group’s journey over the past six years, and includes exclusive one-on-one interviews with its members, Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M.
And, of course, The Dreaming will feature high-energy performances of hits along with an exclusive glimpse at “One Day” and other tracks lifted from their forthcoming album, also named Monsta X: The Dreaming.
Korea audiences will be first in line, with the Monsta X film premiering in their homeland on Dec. 8. The worldwide cinema rollout begins Dec. 9.
Monsta X: The Dreaming is presented by Starship Entertainment Co. Ltd. / Intertwine Music, and will be released in South Korea and Japan by CJ 4DPlex, and in all other territories by Trafalgar Releasing.
Trafalgar Releasing, along with its global partners, have enjoyed K-pop silver screen successes with multiple BTS events, including a box office of $24.3 million in 2019 with Bring The Soul: The Movie; and Blackpink: The Movie, which grossed nearly $4.8 million globally this year during the pandemic.
Monsta X last month released the single “One Day,” their first the English-language release since their sixth studio album, All About Luv. That album, recorded entirely in English, peaked at No. 5 on Billboard 200 chart upon its release in February 2020, and stayed on the survey for two weeks.
