The Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC) Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) are programs that provide fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from Pennsylvania farmers’ markets to WIC participants and eligible seniors. These programs were established in 1993, and since then, have been geared toward expanding their awareness and use of markets. This exciting initiative happens every year between June 1 through November 30.

Sharon Zook, a community leader and businesswoman, has announced her candidacy for County Commissioner of Lebanon County. Zook is a long-time resident of the county, having grown up in a plain Mennonite home adjacent to her grandparents’ farm along the Snitz Creek. She has been recognized for her honesty, integrity, ingenuity, and attention to detail.
