Britney Spears took some time on Tuesday (Sept. 21) to shout out her teenage sons. Alongside a sweet Instagram post featuring the popular quote “there is nothing stronger than the love between a mother and son,” Spears expanded in a lengthy comment, noting that both boys — Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15 — celebrated their birthdays last week.
In a comment relatable to any parent of teens yearning to break free, 39-year-old Spears said that “unfortunately,” both boys are growing up and are interested in going off and doing their own thing. “I have to ask their permission to post them because they are extremely independent little men,” she said of her children with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
“Anyway we had a small party and the coolest ice cream cakes !!! It makes me crazy because they are so tall and geez they are still growing !!! They went to a dance last week and I cried for two days my babies in a suit !!! It’s crazy !!! And girls get ready cause my boys are so handsome,” Brit bragged.
Spears said she “truly” believes the quote about the bond between a mother and her sons, which is why she decided to share it. She added, however, that there is a lot “I can’t share with you all because my kids are very private which I love but I will tell you they are both extremely talented and I’m so incredibly blessed to have these two little men in my life.”
And, in another relatable mom moment, she sent a little note to them in case they happen to read her post, which she was pretty sure they wouldn’t: “I love you two little devils so much.”
The post from Brit came a day after she returned to Insta, following a week of self-imposed social media silence to celebrate her engagement to longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari.
