Friends of The Salvation Army of Lebanon,
Lebanon, PA- We are excited to share that our Summer Day Camp will be in full! swing this summer for children in our community! Summer camp programs offer children a safe place to learn, have fun and build healthy relationships with kids their age while school is not in session.
Children participating in our camp will attend a daily Bible study, create fun art projects, and enjoy time outside swimming and playing sports. We also enjoy having visitors from local businesses to provide educational presentations on tapes like learning to save and spend wisely, and the risks of smoking/vaping. In addition, we’ve enjoyed field trips to places like Lake Tobias and the local movie theater. The kids lave these adventures to new places and to experience new things!
As you can tell, we are really looking forward summer camp and you’re probably wondering how you can help.
Our program is open to up to 30 children ages 6-12. In order to have this many children on-sight daily and to provide the fun and educational experience we aim to deliver; we need camp counselors. Our hope is that in partnership with your organization, we can secure enough counselors to fill all 30 spots!
Our camp runs far 3 weeks, from 9 am to 2 pm and we’re looking far individuals 17 and up to help us have an awesome summer! The weeks.of campare June 20th, June 27th and July 11th• As a camp counselor, you’II gain valuable experience in child care and education and as a non-profit organization, hours spent with us count towards educational volunteer requirements.
Another opportunity to support our summer camp is by helping in the kitchen. Each day we prepare breakfast and lunch for the children and we’re in need of a few helping hands to prepare and serve meaIs. The volunteer hours for kitchen help are from 8 am to 1 pm.
