Harrisburg, Pa- Yesterday the world was struck with the news of a mass shooting that happened in a New York subway. Frank R. James, 62, is a person of interest being pursued. According to the report, he has not been charged or named suspect of the shooting. Authorities who are investigating the case have mentioned videos he has published on social media claiming that U.S. is racist with large number of violence. In the videos he complains about violence, he also mentions committing violence himself according to the Pennlive report.
In a recent video Mr. James mentions being in Harrisburg at the time of the video was published.
New York police mentioned that 10 people were shot, with an overall of 20 people being injured in connection to the shooting. Reports say that no one was fatally shot. Authorities said that Mr. James credit card and the key to a rented van was found on scene, the van was rented from a U-Haul location in Philadelphia says the report.
A spokesperson from U-Haul, according to the report, emailed the Philadelphia Inquirer ” “Law enforcement has alerted us to its search for a rental van and its possible connection to a suspect in today’s incident in New York City. We are working closely with authorities to ensure they have any and all available information to meet their needs.”
A new report from Local 21 news mentions that Mr. James has been upgraded from person of interest to suspect. Mayor Eric Adams said in a statement “Based on the briefing from my law enforcement officials and based on the evidence that we were able to accumulate, he has now been upgraded to suspect”.
Breaking: Multiple media sources have reported on the arrest of suspect Mr. James being arrested at a location in the East Village. New York City Police Department Chief of Detectives James Essig said the following in a statement “We believe, but this is still early in the investigation, that after firing his weapon 33 times at innocent New York City subway riders, Mr. James boarded an R train that had pulled into the station, went one stop up and exited at the 25th Street station. We also have a picture of that. The gun used in this — a 9 millimeter Glock — which was recovered at this crime scene, was purchased by Mr. James in 2011 in Ohio,” Essig said.
Mr. James YouTube video stated that he was allegedly n Harrisburg, PA weeks ago before becoming a suspect of the current investigation being done by NY City Police. Mr.James was the person responsible for submitting the tip of his location according to other reports, which led to his arrest yesterday.
