Harrisburg, Pa- The Pennsylvania State Police arrested Scott Berdine for alleged sexual offenses against two children. The children were abused around the time they were between 6-8 years old. Berdine allegedly committed the crimes outside of working hours in a location in Cambria County. “Berdine has been employed with the PSP as an Enforcement Officer 3 within the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement since September 2008. He is assigned to the Punxsutawney District Enforcement Office and is suspended without pay pending the resolution of the criminal charges against him.” says the press release.
The charges against Berdine are:
- Sexual Abuse of Children / Photographing, Videotaping, Depicting on Computer or Filming Sexual Acts, 18 Pa. C.S. §6312(b)(2), one count;
- Sexual Abuse of Children / Child Pornography, 18 Pa. C.S. §6312(d), 21 counts;
- Sexual Abuse of Children / Dissemination of Photographs, Videotapes, Computer Depictions and Films, 18 Pa. C.S. §6312(c), 10 counts; and
- Criminal Use of Communication Facility, 18 Pa. C.S. §7512(a), two counts.
According to the press release these events happened between 2017 and 2021. Berdine is currently arrested with a pending bail of $500,000. His preliminary hearing is set to potentially happen on March 9th, 2022 around 10am.
