Things are shaping up to be fairly subdued this weekend at Pennsylvania Society. The dinner will take place Saturday and fittingly will honor Dr. Ala Stanford of Philadelphia, the CEO and Founder of the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium.
In a normal year it would be a perfect time for the annual confab of political, business and nonprofit leaders from the Keystone State (which, to the bemusement of newcomers and the ire of venues in Pa., takes place in Manhattan). Major primary races for Governor, Senate, Congress, and a raft of scuttlebutt related to redistricting and reapportionment would drive more than a weekend of cocktail parties.
Unfortunately, uncertainty over the COVID-19 pandemic led many longtime event hosts to postpone plans until 2022. The dinner itself remains in an alternate venue while renovations continue at the Waldorf Astoria. NYC requires most indoor venues to confirm proof of COVID vaccination, including for the dinner.
Here are the events happening this weekend at the 123nd annual gathering. If we missed any, please send the details to [email protected].
