Post Malone and The Weeknd continue to gear up for their new eras — this time, with a joint collaboration on the horizon. On Tuesday (Nov. 2), the “Circles” and “Blinding Lights” singers teased a snippet of a new song to their respective Instagram pages.
The snippet sees Malone and The Weeknd singing over a poppy synth beat, with Malone saying, “I got one comin’ all the way you want right now,” before the After Hours singer chimes in on the following verse and sings, “You’re a stain on my legacy.” The song’s title and release date have yet to be confirmed by both parties.
This will be the second single that Malone has put out in 2021, following the July release of “Motley Crew.” The Weeknd recently collaborated with EDM supergroup Swedish House Mafia on “Moth to a Flame,” which charted at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Canadian singer also featured on several works in the past year, teaming up with Doja Cat on “You Right” and Kanye West on Donda cut “Hurricane.” The new song will be the first time that The Weeknd and Malone have featured on a track together.
Malone’s manager, Dre London, revealed back in April that Posty has two potential albums up his sleeve, though no official plans for release were revealed. The Weeknd told fans that his forthcoming album, tentatively titled Dawn, is “complete” during an Oct. 4 episode of his Apple Music 1 radio show, Memento Mori.
