As we celebrate 70 years of service to the Lebanon County community, this year also marks our 25th Day of Caring. The event will take place Saturday, April 23, 2022. “I am proud to be part of this exciting one-day, volunteer event, the largest in our area. It’s gratifying to be able to connect our neighbors with nonprofits that they are passionate about,” says Flame Vo, Director of Marketing & Communications at United Way.
Each year, hundreds of volunteers head out to volunteer projects throughout the county. Some are cleaning streets, painting, landscaping and gardening, reading to children, and more. Our goal is to make as much of an impact as possible in a single day. The longevity and success of this event is due in large part to the projects that are submitted by local organizations within the community. We have a lot of caring neighbors with very diverse backgrounds and skills who are eager to help these organizations to build an even better future for Lebanon County.
Once again this year, the impact we make on Day of Caring will also help our local nonprofits. The staffing shortages brought on by the pandemic are greatly affecting these organizations who provide critical services to our community. By having volunteers tackle some of the projects that had been put on the back burner, they are able to keep their focus on ensuring the needs of our neighbors are met.
There are numerous ways to support the Lebanon County community for Day of Caring. Businesses can sponsor the day, host fundraisers or sign up teams to volunteer. Families and individuals can donate their time and talent or make a financial contribution to show their commitment to ensuring a stronger community for us all.
Day of Caring is a signature event for United Way of Lebanon County because it embodies our mission to support the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Every day our team is working hard to address the complex challenges Lebanon County residents face. We focus on connecting families to resources to improve their economic self-dependence, removing barriers to learning for our most vulnerable children, and giving all of our children a strong start in life. Join us, and LIVE UNITED. United for children, families and our future.
