On Tuesday, December 24, 2017, the President signed a bill into law. This bill labels the VA’s community-based outpatient facility in French Camp, California as “the Richard A. Pittman VA Clinic.” I am appreciative of Representatives McNerney and Harder, Senators Feinstein and Padilla, and the California delegation for showing exemplary leadership. This was indicated by their support for passage of the H.R. 6863 bill, which names the medical center of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Memphis, Tennessee, after Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Many thanks to Congressperson Steve Cohen, plus Senators Blackburn and Hagerty for their initiatives. Congress has successfully passed HR 7903, which has officially dubbed the Community-Based Outpatient VA Clinic located in Canton, Michigan in honor of Major General Oliver W. Dillard. I am greatly appreciative of Representatives Stevens and Dingell, Senators Peters and Stabenow, and the Michigan delegation for their guidance. I would like to recognize the approval of H.R. 7925, bestowing the Sy Kaplan VA Clinic title to the community-based Department of Veteran Affairs outpatient facility in Palm Desert, California. I want to express my gratitude to Representative Raul Ruiz, Senators Feinstein and Padilla, and other members of the California delegation for their exemplary direction. With their efforts, S. 3825 has been approved, which names the United States Postal Service facility at 3903 Melear Drive in Arlington, Texas, as the Ron Wright Post Office Building. Many thanks to Senator Cornyn, Senator Cruz, Representative Ellzey, and the Texas government team for the guidance they provided. S. 4017 has established the James D. Todd United States Courthouse at 40523 South Highland Avenue in Jackson, Tennessee.
